The Winnipeg Jets are fresh off a 2-1 win against the Sharks last night as they extended their franchise-record point streak to 10 games. Winnipeg has been on fire since the start of December, going 12-1-2 (26 points) and racking up four more points than any other team in the league during that stretch.
Nikolaj Ehlers has been a big reason for the team’s success as he’s collected six goals and 17 points in the 15 games since the start of December while also firing a team-leading 50 shots on net.
Ehlers recorded just two shots on net against the Sharks but has generally been firing the puck at a decent clip, putting at least four shots on target in seven of his last 10 games. The Jets forward should have a good opportunity at cashing the Over on 3.5 shots tonight against an Anaheim Ducks team that gives up plenty of chances.
Anaheim is allowing 32.7 shots against per game this season — the sixth-most in the NHL — and that number has been even higher of late. The Ducks are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs where they allowed a whopping 57 shots on net, just a few days after giving up seven goals and 39 shots to the Oilers.
Ehlers should have room to wheel against the Ducks so I suspect we’ll see him throw plenty of pucks on net.

The Jets have scored at least four goals in eight of their last 13 outings and should be able to run up the score as the clear favorites tonight.

Jets vs Ducks moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Jets opened as the massive -189 favorite on the road with the total set at 6 goals. I think we’ll see the visitors cruise to a fifth straight win while cashing the Under tonight.
Winnipeg has been nearly impossible to beat over the past month with just three losses — two in overtime — in its last 15 outings. Defense has been key for the Jets as they’re giving up just 1.80 GAPG over that span — the stingiest mark in the NHL. At the same time, their offense hasn’t slouched either, scoring a very respectable 3.40 GPG.
We’re expecting to see Laurent Brossoit take the net tonight as Connor Hellebuyck played Thursday in San Jose, but there shouldn’t be too much of a drop off. Brossoit went 3-1-0 in December while posting an excellent 1.77 goals against average and .946 SV% while holding opponents to two goals or fewer in each start.
Going hand-in-hand with Winnipeg’s strong defense, we should see a low-scoring tilt at Honda Center tonight. The Jets have held opponents to two goals or less in seven straight games and 14 of their last 15 games. The Ducks are averaging a mere 2.51 GPG this year — the fourth-worst mark in the league — so Anaheim likely tops out at two goals in this matchup.
The Under has cashed in four of Anaheim’s last six outings and four of Winnipeg’s last five on the road.
