Horse Racing picks for Santa Anita race track on Sunday, October 1
There is plenty of great Horse Racing across America on Sunday, including at Santa Anita race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +175.85 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Santa Anita.
5:33 pm Santa Anita (Race 4) – Adare Manor 2/5 (3-star play)
The 4-year-old completed a four-timer when winning at the highest level at Del Mar in early August. That victory came by a length in the Clement L Hirsch Stakes over this trip, a race in which she came home a length clear of Desert Dawn who re-opposes here. Bob Baffert’s daughter of Uncle Mo has won 5 of her 8 starts at this venue and is taken to score here following a 46.40 4-furlong work here 25th September.
6:37 pm Santa Anita (Race 6) – Missed The Cut 8/5 (2-star play)
Missed The Cut showed good form in Europe last year prior to starting his 2023 campaign with a fourth in a valuable contest on dirt in Saudi Arabia. The 4-year-old performed well when a one-and-a-quarter-length fourth in the Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap over a mile-and-three-eighths just under a month ago. Bred to appreciate this trip the colt should have no issue returning to the main track and he is expected to prove hard to beat with Umberto Rispoli up.
7:41 pm Santa Anita (Race 8) – Bus Buzz 5/2 (2-star play)
The Stay Thirsty gelding has won half of his six starts to date including by four-and-a-quarter-lengths in a 7-furlong contest at Del Mar in early August. Trainer Steve R. Knapp switched him to turf and dropped the selection back to five furlongs when three lengths sixth in a Grade 3 event there subsequently and he looks capable of returning to the winners’ enclosure stepping up in distance with the switch to an allowance optional claimer a further positive.
