Fueled by record heat and dry conditions, wildfires burning in Quebec are impacting millions of people as far south as North Carolina. In Toronto, thick smoke turned the setting sun red, and made views of the city from the CN tower almost invisible.
Air quality alerts were issued as the thick haze made breathing difficult and turned skies over much of the Northeast an orange or yellow color.

The 2023 MotoGP season proved to be one of the most com Pet itive campaigns for the series, as the championship battle between Ducati duo Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin raged until the final race of an historic campaign that also saw sprints introduced for the first time. Bagnaia ultimately won out by 39 points to score his second championship, capping off a banner year for Ducati in which it won a record 17 GPs across six of its eight rider s, achieved 43 total podiums and eight rostrum lockouts. There were standout performances elsewhere, with Aprilia winning twice with Aleix Espargaro and Honda scoring a sole victory in a miserable campaign courtesy of Alex Rins. New winners emerged too, while others put in commendable performances without ever getting to the top step of the podium. To decide who we consider the 10 best rider of the 2023 MotoGP season , we’ve taken results into account but also results relative to machinery at their disposal. A...
Quick facts When is it? Every November 13th Tagged as People & Relationships What's the hashtag? #WorldKindnessDay Have we missed something? Kindness Day was born when a collection of humanitarian groups came together on November 13, 1997, and made a “Declaration of Kindness”. Likewise, on Kindness Day everyone is encouraged to make a similar declaration. Donating books, food, or clothes to your local community is a great way to celebrate. However, pledging to commit just one act of kindness is no less worthwhile: hold the door open for a stranger, compliment your neighbor on their collection of garden gnomes, let your partner have control of the TV remote for the evening. History of World Kindness Day World Kindness Day first began as a day of observation by the World Kindness Movement. The organization was registered as an official NGO under Swiss law in 2019. However, the History of the group reaches right back to a Tokyo-based convention in 1997. A r...
The Mavericks are going backward after a hot start to the season, dropping three of their last four as they head off to a mini two-game road trip on the West Coast. Will L.A. succumb to fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back, or does it have enough firepower to win this heavily-anticipated matchup? Let's break down the NBA odds and dive right into it with our free NBA picks and predictions for Mavericks vs. Lakers on Wednesday, November 22. Mavericks vs Lakers odds Mavericks vs Lakers predictions I wrote yesterday when discussing the Los Angeles Lakers that it should just be a matter of days before they’ve risen into the Top 10 in defensive efficiency with the recent progress they’ve made on that end, and lo and behold they enter play on Wednesday ranked 10th in the NBA when it comes to points allowed per 100 possessions....
